This is still a WIP, just completed some (terrible) solders last night. The sound works! The exciter speaker, against a box or surface, is super loud!

This is a 5w 4ohm speaker paired to a 5V, 5w @ 4ohm amp. I don't know yet what it will sound like inside the wand though. I'm currently playing with layouts to allow the pop mechanism to still work. If it wasn't a consideration it would be far easier as the barrel takes up half the available space. I've already had to remove the cosmetic dial for the volume on the amp. The battery just about fits in the slot where the old speaker was. I will be using a small SPST switch to turn the amp on and off (tested, works), and I have to make arrangements for a charging port

Well, wand has been reverted back to original after trying three speakers.

Audio connections, amp, battery, etc worked fine. It's just that all three sounded like garbage at any volumes above the stock speaker. So while I could turn the volume up on the amp, they made horrible raspy, muddled sound, and in the case of the dayton, vibrated the whole thing like I had five vibration motors in there.

So after much soldering, waiting and testing, it's not worth it to put a different speaker inside the wand. I will be running the audio out to the pack, but I'm going to wait to see what the modding community does in terms of custom sleds/boards, etc.
